1) What is the amount one would like to spend . Is it cash down or part loan?

In NCR customers generally prefer petrol, however in other parts of the country it differs. EVs are not in good numbers in the used car market, in the next 1-2 years EVs will also be an option to choose from.

a) Is it daily commuting or will it be weekend car ?
b) Is the car generally goes on highway ?
c) Is it for learning purpose ?
d) Is it just for a short period ( less than one year ) .

Need keep in mind the post sales depreciation within a year if one has to sell it .

4) What is the resale value of the car ?

One of the most important question to answer if someone has to sell after 2- 3 years then what price will it fetch in the preowned car market . The simple yardstick to guage the resale value will be to see how that particular car perform in new car segment . The car which sells in very good numbers in new car will have better resale
value .

5) What is the after sales and repair cost and parts availability in after market ?

Car which sells in volume generally have low after sales and service cost. Part availability will not be an issue in those cars . Hence one need to research about the after sales cost before finalizing any car .

6) Any particular color option ?

It will be icing on the cake if one would get the desired color option , however in pre owned car market one should look for good car in their budget . Sometimes if budget increases slightly and the desired car is available then one should go for it. Colors like yellow , green , maroon , orange , purple etc generally command low resale value . White has the highest resale value and commands maximum demand followed by black. 

7) When you like to buy ?

Another crucial aspect is the timeline . Is it on a special occasion like birthday / anniversary
